Ms. Dina Najman has extensive experience teaching and speaking in the Jewish community on topics ranging from bioethics to environmental law. In the area of bioethics and halacha, numerous rabbis, doctors, ethicists and other authorities frequently seek out her expertise and rely upon her judgment. In addition to teaching, Ms. Najman participates in the bioethics and medical humanities reading group at Montefiore and Weiler hospitals. She is on the Executive Board of the Halachic Organ Donor Society (HODS) and is Education Committee chair for the Agunah Commission. A writer on numerous topics, she compiled the halachic source material for HODS and has developed and taught halachic curricula for the Drisha Institute as well as Ma’ayanot and SAR High Schools. Many individuals in her community call upon her scholarship and expertise to answer questions on a wide range of halachic issues.
After graduating high school, Ms. Najman studied at Michlalah in Jerusalem where she earned a teaching certificate. She went on to Yeshiva University, where she majored in Biology and minored in Judaic Studies, Music and Speech/Drama. Upon graduation, she was a Drisha fellow and then went to study at Nishmat, where she learned in their niddah study program. While at Nishmat, she taught full-time students and served as the shoel u’maishiv in the Beit Midrash. Ms. Najman was a Torat Miriam Fellow and earned her certification in Bioethics and Medical Humanities from NYU/Einstein Bioethics and Medical Humanities Certificate Program.
She currently teaches at SAR and Drisha.
